I am 45 years old. I am a librarian and fanatic reader. This blog is a memorial to a world at war, 1914-1918.  I'll also add other things that interest me. I've named this blog after the Menin Road.  This is a monument to the thousands of missing  from the Ypres battle fields...
© IWM (Q 1889) British Official Photographer’s car, M 9035, bringing food supplies to the inhabitants of Bouvincourt (Bouvincourt-en-Vermandois), March 1917.  The car belongs to Lt. Ernest Brooks, one of the first official photographers sent to the Western Front by the British Government.  Germany had just pulled back to the Hindenburg Line and the Allies are trying to reach areas that need supplies that were previously provided by the Germans…
